چکیده

Background Humic acid (HA) is an organic that naturally present in soil matter and improves nutrient availability the mechanisms involved plant growth development. Likewise, salicylic (SA) important hormone regulation of A pot experiment was carried out to determine effects individual or combined HA SA application on yield maize (Zea mays L.) under drought stress conditions. Two hybrids, namely, 30T60 (drought tolerant) 75S75 sensitive), were grown semi-controlled conditions foliar applied with (1 mM), (100 mg L−1) their combination (HA + SA). The plants exposed at tasseling stage (R1, 60 days after sowing) for 2 weeks, while control given normal irrigation. Results results showed applications significantly enhanced gas exchange characteristics (photosynthetic rate, transpiration stomatal conductance), antioxidant activity (catalase, guaiacol peroxidase, superoxide dismutase) water stressed plants. Foliar spray increased photosynthetic efficiency enzymatic antioxidants closely followed by ultimately improved net benefit cost ratio deficit Conclusion Our findings suggest spraying initiation reproductive a cost-effective strategy obtain high limited

Physiological response of Okra cv. Kano to foliar application of putrescine and humic acid under water deficit stress

To investigate effects of putrescine (Put) and humic acid (HA) on fruit yield and physiological attributes of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. 'Kano') under water deficit stress, a field experiment was conducted in split plot based on a randomized complete block design with three replications. Plants were exposed to three different irrigation regimes (33%, 66% and 100% ETc) and were treated with...

Effect of salicylic acid and humic acid on some physiological characteristics and yield of forage maize (Zea mays L.) under drought tension conditions

In order to investigate the effect of salicylic acid and humic acid to mitigate the impact of drought tension during pollination of forage maize, the present experiment was conducted as split plots based on randomized complete blocks design with three replications at Isfahan University of Technology. Drought tension levels included: without tension (control), mild tension (75 percent crop capa...

Effects of Foliar Application of Salicylic Acid on Growth and Physiological Attributes of Cowpea under Water Stress Conditions

The possible alleviating effects of salicylic acid on protection of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) cv. Parastu under water stress conditions were investigated in the University of Zanjan Agriculture Research Station during 2008. Water stress was imposed by withholding irrigation at 50% flowering (flowering water stress, FWS) and when 50% of the pods grew 2-3cm (pod-formation water stress, PFWS). Sa...
